In this course, we will learn how to use appliances safely.

In homes or in spaces that we share with others, e.g. a hostel, our workplace, etc., it is common to find appliances such as a refrigerator, a washing machine or an oven.

Some appliances may also produce steam or fire and/or become hot when they are in use. They may also have motors and moving parts. It is important for us to learn how to use them safely to prevent accidents from happening.

  • Middle Years (11 – 14 years old) and above

In this course, we will learn:

  • Why Is It Important to Use Appliances Safely?
  • Best Practices When Handling Appliances and Hot Food and Utensils

In this course, we will learn:

  • How to stay safe when handling electrical sockets, power cords and switches.
  • The safety precautions to take when using appliances.
  • The safety precautions to take when handling hot food.

This online course is open for Pathlight School students to access.
