This online course serves as a guide for facilitators to support and assist students transitioning from Pathlight School into institutes for higher learning
The resources will benefit:
- Secondary School students in their graduating year
- Potential or newly-enrolled students at the ITE
- Staff supporting these students
This course contains six modules:
- Being Independent at ITE
- Student Orientation
- Life at ITE
- Getting Help
- Group Work
- Industrial Attachment
In this course, you will:
- Build students’ awareness of what to expect at the ITE
- Highlight situations and areas of challenges that students might encounter
- Help students identify gap skills that they might need to start working on
- Help students identify services, supports and sources of help available to them at the ITE
- Equip educators, therapists, and counsellors with a resource pack (i.e. videos, facilitator’s guides, printable worksheets) to better guide and support students transitioning into the ITE
