Equip educators and parents with a resource pack (i.e. videos, lesson plans, activities) to better guide and support students in learning how to write.

This course covers three modules:

  • Get Ready for Writing
  • The Developmental Stages of Writing
  • Learning Resources

All children need to be explicitly taught handwriting skills. One-third of children with autism may have challenges in handwriting. Challenges include:

  • Legibility. For example, letter size, spacing between letters and words, alignment and etc.
  • Handwriting speed
  • Motor control of writing instrument
  • Pencil grip strength

This course is available to Pathlight School / ARC(S) staff.
