Full course description
Musicals are plays that tell stories through songs, dance, acting and scenery. Unlike operas, musicals have dialogue and can be sung by untrained voices.
This course will introduce you to the world of musicals. You will learn about the different types of musicals and how musicals present compelling stories.
Current modules available:
- Miss Saigon
- Carousel
- Sweeney Todd
- Porgy and Bess
Each module will take 50 minutes to complete, excluding assignments.
In this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the story and plot behind popular stage musical performances
- Gain an appreciation of the songs sang during the musical performances
This course is available to selected Pathlight School / ARC(S) staff.

Arts Entertainment with Advisory 16 Rating
This course contains content with mature themes such as occasional scenes of a sexual or violent nature which are more suitable for discriminating audiences 16 years of age and above. While it is not mandatory for an age restriction to be imposed for Advisory 16 ratings, the eCampus team has made this course available only to learners above 16 years of age, by request. Parental consent is also required for current students of Pathlight School.
