Full course description


The opera is a higher-level musical that needs to be sung by trained voices. Often they are sung through without lines of spoken dialogue. Operas are a compelling way to tell stories through songs and dramas

New modules will be added every month.

  6. The Marriage of Figaro
  7. Die Fledermaus
  8. The Ring of the Nibelung
  9. The Magic Flute
  10. The Pirates of Penzance
  11. La Traviata
  12. La Bohème
  13. The Tales of Hoffmann
  14. Der Freischütz
  15. The Merry Widow
  16. Orpheus in the Underworld
  17. The Child and the Spells
  18. Fidelio
  19. HMS Pinafore


Each module will take 50 minutes to complete, excluding assignments.

In this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the story and plot behind popular opera performances
  • Gain an appreciation of the songs sang during the opera performances

This online course is open for Pathlight School students to access.
