Full course description
A public library is a place containing collections of books, periodicals (i.e. magazines or newspapers published at regular intervals), and sometimes films and recorded music for public use or loan.
In this course, we will learn what is a public library and how to view and borrow the library resources.
This course is recommended for middle year (11-14 years old) and above.
In this course, we will learn about:
- Public library in Singapore
- How to plan a visit to a public library
- How to find and use resources at a public library
- How to borrow resources from a public library
- How to reserve and collect library resources
In this course, we will learn to:
- recognise Singapore's public libraries and their facilities
- describe the steps to apply for library membership
- plan a visit to a public library
- describe the steps to find and use resources at a public library
- describe the steps to borrow resources from a public library
- describe the steps to reserve and collect library resources
- follow the safe distancing measures and social rules
